How To Motorola Moto G6 Plus: Factory Reset via Settings



WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all the personal data located on the phone will be deleted, including apps, media files, downloaded content, contacts etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD storage won’t be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Backup & reset
  3. In case your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN
  4. Tap “Reset phone” to confirm and follow the on-screen prompts

Factory Reset via Recovery:

  1. If necessary, turn the phone Off
  2. Then, press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
  3. Once you see the “Boot Mode Selection” menu, release the buttons
  4. Navigate the menu by pressing “Volume down” repeatedly
  5. Highlight “Recovery
  6. Press “Volume Up” to confirm the selected option
  7. At the “No command” screen, press and release “Volume Up” and “Power” for several times until you gain access to Recovery
  8. Once in Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
  9. Press “Power
  10. Highlight “Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content” and press “Power
  11. Once the process is done, ensure “Reboot system now” is highlighted and press “Power” again to confirm.
